With the release of Bever App 2025 Q2 (version 2025.2.0), we’ve introduced significant improvements to the map feature. These updates provide greater flexibility in placing devices on the map and synchronizing their locations with your Bever Account.

What's New?

Previously, device placement on the map required the device to be connected and authorized through the app. Modifying device locations via the Bever Dashboard was not possible. With the latest update, this limitation is removed.

New Toolbar and Modes

A new toolbar has been added to the map view. It includes:

  • A list of unplaced devices

  • A toggle to switch between "Local" and "Cloud" modes

Local Mode

This functions as before:

  • Device locations are stored directly on the devices.

  • Devices must be connected and authorized to make or save changes.

  • When saved, changes are written directly to the device.

Cloud Mode

A new addition:

  • Device locations are stored in your Bever Account rather than on the device itself.

  • Devices do not need to be connected or authorized to update their map location.

  • By default, device locations in cloud mode are based on their last known local positions.

You can easily sync between the two modes:

  • Use "Save Cloud to Local" to apply cloud positions to the device.

  • Use "Reset Cloud to Local" to revert cloud positions back to the device’s stored locations.

Bever Dashboard Integration

With locations now stored in the cloud, you can view and edit them directly from the Bever Dashboard:

  • Navigate to Network Overview and select a network.

  • A map view appears with the same functionality as in the app.

  • In Local mode, you can view but not modify device positions (no direct device connection).

  • In Cloud mode, you can freely adjust positions and save them.

You can also:

  • Undo recent changes

  • Restore cloud positions to match local device data

To see changes reflected immediately in the Bever App:

  • Restart the app

  • Start a device search

  • Or use "Retrieve from Cloud" from the menu

Each of these actions will trigger a data sync with the Bever Cloud.
