Introduction
The Smart Bridge IO allows you to integrate an external device in various ways into your existing Smart network. The input signal of the Bridge can be controlled by a 0-10V input signal or any potential-free contact (switch), while the output can switch up to 5A (230V) with help of an internal relay.
The amount of inputs and outputs can be extended by placing extra Bridge IO, Digital Input or Digital Output Bridges next to each other and configure them in such way that they are in the same Smart network.

Placement Considerations
The Bridge should always be in range of your Smart network, e.g., have a good RF connection to at least one of the Smart devices in your network. The IO Bridge has an optimized internal antenna, optionally an external antenna can be installed. The two main factors influencing the quality of the RF connection are the distance between the Bridge and closest Smart device, and obstacles blocking the direct line-of-sight between them. For example, a metal enclosure will result in a worse RF performance as compared to a plastic housing.
Connections and Interfaces
Below is an overview of the Bridge and connector layout. After installation, make sure to configure the Bridge in such way it integrates with your Smart network. If you need help with configuration, please consult the IO Bridge - Configuration Manual.
24VDC
Power input. Connect a suitable power supply (24V) to these terminals. This power input is reverse-polarity protected.
OUTPUT (5A)
NO - Normally open terminal
COM - Common terminal terminal
NC - Normally closed terminal
RS485 (Only available with custom firmware)
24V- 24V output from '+' terminal
A- Negative signal
B- Positive signal
GND - Ground reference
INPUT
AIN - Analog 0-10V signal. When configured as digital input, short to AGND to trigger
AGND - Analog ground reference
Status Indicator
In the top right corner of the Bridge a status indicator is installed to indicate the current status of the Bridge. The table below shows the possible colors of this indicator with the according status message.
OFF | No power; check power supply voltage
RED | Internal failure; contact Bever Innovations
GREEN | Normal operation
YELLOW | Configuration mode (connected to tablet/phone) |
Examples
Analog Input (1-10V)
The schematic below shows how to connect an 1-10V DC power supply to the IO Bridge. Important; never exceed the 10V DC input limit of the Bridge. Please consult the IO Bridge - Configuration Manual on how to configure the Bridge for this example.
